Center for Women in Transition

We are a program of the Center for Women in Transition a non-profit agency which strives to respond to, reduce, and prevent domestic and sexual violence against women. The Center  offers emergency shelter, counseling services,  case management, support groups, vocational assistance, and various other services that help women, children, and families. The Center  also provides the Girls on the Run programs for Ottawa and Allegan Counties. Girls on the Run is a program that teaches girls to have a healthy self –esteem and to respect themselves. The Center  feels  passionately about preventing violence and empowering women and provides this program in the hopes that it will prevent future victims by empowering the participants.

The Center  staff works to raise individual, business, United Way, and foundation  gifts  in order to provide low cost registration and financial assistance to those who cannot afford the registration fee  and promotes the program to parents, volunteers, and sponsors in the community.

Center for Women  in Transition is proud to provide Girls on the Run in the hope that it will  strengthen not only the girls in our community, but  the community as a whole.
